Stratus Vineyards Pairs with Fogo Island Inn for New Year's
Fogo Island Inn is excited to announce that Canadian Craft vitner Stratus Vineyards will be joining us this New Year's for a celebration of the year past, and a toast to the year to come.
This New Year’s Eve (NYE) at Fogo Island Inn, revelers will clink glasses with guest host J-L (Jean-Laurent) Groux, a critically acclaimed winemaker from Niagara wine country, in Ontario. Then, on New Year's day wine enthusiasts will be treated to a special wine-tasting featuring a selection of Stratus' best vintages, sure to please both their palates and their principles.
Stratus Vineyards is the prototype for sustainable wineries around the world. Designed by architect Les Andrew with engineering design by Alan Greer, is a marvel of efficiency, sustainability and flexibility. It is a building designed to produce limited quantities of wine based on a true gravity flow system, thereby eliminating any pumping of wine.
Stratus Vineyards produces ultra-premium VQA (Vintners Quality Alliance Ontario) wines on a 62-acre estate in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The company pursues sustainable viticulture and winemaking in its environmentally friendly facility. Committed to responsible stewardship of the land, it is the first building in Canada and first winery in the world to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the Canada Green Building Council.
Environmental sustainability continues to be a core value of all involved in the design and operation of Stratus.
