A Food Day in the Life of Canada

In August, Fogo Island Inn joined approximately 250 restaurants across the country taking part in Food Day Canada, a celebration of our nation's local food and culinary culture. An annual event, Food Day Canada aims to shine a light on what makes our culinary landscape, and our country, so richly unique and diverse. From farmers and fishers; gardeners and growers; restauranteurs and home-cooks; all are invited to participate in the conversation and share their creations using seasonal produce, local game, and traditional recipes. This month, Fogo Island Inn was awarded a Silver Good Food Innovator Award for our culinary team's menu contribution to the Day's festivities. You can see a sampling of dishes showcasing the bounty of Fogo Island's land and seascapes, with a special emphasis on the humble cod, in the menu excerpt below:
