A Winter Lover’s Road Trip Through Newfoundland

Throughout the entire month of February 2018, ardent lovers of nature and adventure will journey to the edge of the North Atlantic to experience the unspoiled beauty and magic of a Newfoundland winter. The five-day Winter Lover’s Road Trip will take travellers on self-guided excursions through St. John’s, Heart’s Delight, and Fogo Island to experience first-hand this most powerful and transformative season.

Fogo Island Inn has partnered with CapeRace, the upbeat, boutique, Newfoundland travel company known for its experiential travel tours, to introduce guests to this unique winter encounter. A rental car will be waiting upon arrival at St. John’s International Airport, where adventurers can immediately embark on their journey exploring this small but vibrant city—from St. John’s Outer Battery Village area, to the coastal trails and slopes of the iconic Signal Hill, to the lively pubs and restaurants of Water Street—the oldest street in North America. Day Two sees travellers take the hour and a half drive to Heart’s Delight, the beautiful coastal community on the shores of Trinity Bay, where accommodations consist of charming outport bungalows, and the incredible rocky coastlines are a natural playground to be explored by foot or snowshoe. The third day ventures further northward, with the town of Farewell as the destination to catch the 1-hour ferry ride to Fogo Island. A warm welcome awaits at Fogo Island Inn, ushering in two days of fine dining, exhilarating winter activities, and leisure comforts at one of the four corners of the Earth.
