Broadway and Beyond

On Saturday, September 9, 2017, beloved stage, television and recording artist Robert Pilon will give an intimate concert entitled “Broadway and Beyond” at Fogo Island Inn's Gathering Hall. In advance of his return 9/11 performance in Gander, Newfoundland, guests of Fogo Island Inn will have the singular opportunity to hear Pilon perform songs from Broadway favourites, including “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera and “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables. Pilon will be accompanied by violinist Claudio Vena and pianist David Atkinson.

Robert Pilon is best known for his memorable musical performances in leading roles such as Jean Valjean (Les Miserables) and the Phantom (The Phantom of the Opera), in Toronto and across Canada. To date, Pilon has released two albums and has been a special featured guest on others by Frank Mills, the 125th special recording of Canada’s National Anthem, and the original cast recording of the musical Ragtime, all of which have made him a global ambassador for Canada. He was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to supporting those in the line of service to our country, including seven performances to mark the 9/11 anniversaries in Canada and New York City. He has had the honour of touring through England and France with Wounded Warriors Canada culminating in a gala performance at Vimy Ridge on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of this significant battle. Most recently, Pilon also performed for the original Come From Away community at the 15th anniversary of 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland. Pilon has been honoured to perform for the past four Prime Ministers, three Governors General and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Pilon will be performing at St. Andrew’s By The Sea, New Brunswick, in Gander for the farewell gala for Mayor Claude Elliot, and a special solo night at the Fogo Island Inn.
