New Year’s Eve at One of the Four Corners of the Earth

Newfoundlanders are the first in North America to ring in the New Year. From December 30, 2019-January 1, 2020, join us on Fogo Island's singular time zone, where New Year’s celebrations here begin a full hour and a half before the countdown in Times Square. Celebrating with us is critically acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Hawksley Workman. In addition to singing, Workman is a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, drums, bass, and keyboards, often switching between instruments when playing live. Welcome in 2020 with an evening of festivities that includes a live show from Workman, poetry, song, exquisite dining, and an unmediated encounter with the powerful North Atlantic.

Hawksley Workman is a two-time JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A staple of the Canadian music and arts scene for over 20 years, Workman boasts a catalogue of 16 releases, showcasing his now signature blend of anthemic folk and show-stopping vocals. Workman’s touring career has seen him play over a thousand shows, headlining prestigious venues like Massey Hall in Toronto and The Olympia in Paris.

Workman's latest record, titled Median Age Wasteland, was released on March 1, 2019.  The record reveals his hooky yet innovative melodic approach, authentic songwriting, and good old-fashioned, unedited, musicianship.
