March Break

Reconnect and make lifelong memories as a family over March Break, at Fogo Island Inn. You can revel in nature and rediscover your creative side together, through outdoors, indoors, and hands-on family activities.

At this time of year—Pack Ice Season—the days are longer and sunnier, perfect for snowmobiling, tobogganing, and snowshoeing, and of course, trips to a Community Host’s cabin in the forested interior of the island. *

You can also snuggle up indoors with a mug of something warm, for story and song circles with local authors, musicians, and storytellers. Join us fireside for s’mores—or in our private cinema for film nights and movie snacks. And take part in arts and crafts activities with local painters, ceramicists, and makers. Whether you and your kids are knitting, creating a collage with found objects from nature, or sculpting clay, you’ll be free to unleash your imaginations together, far from the interruptions of everyday life.

We’ll also be offering family treasure hunts over March Break, so you can explore our environment, cultural landmarks, and heritage, through fun challenges. And on guided hikes, there will be opportunities to learn about wild plants and their medicinal properties, as well as to spot animals (or identify their tracks and calls)—with any luck you’ll catch a glimpse of our herd of caribou! Dog lovers can get to know our lovable Newfoundland dog, Make, at one of his daily meet-and-greets in the lobby. And for a glittery moment before bedtime, don’t forget to head up to our rooftop for stargazing.

Let this be a vacation the kids will never forget at the edge of the earth—talk with our Reservations team to plan your stay.
