Reading Retreat with Ann-Marie MacDonald
Journey to our island off an island and get lost between the pages of a book. Join us April 30 – May 2 for an incredibly special reading retreat led by award-winning writer Ann-Marie MacDonald. Take part in intimate fireside readings with the author.
Guests will receive a selection of novels, specially curated by Ann-Marie. In addition to her highly anticipated new novel, Fayne, this list includes Jesse Thistle’s newest release Scars & Stars, a collection of poetry and prose that explores Thistle’s past, family life, and unexpected love; and The Myth of Normal by Dr. Gabor Maté, which investigates the cause of illness and the path to healing in Western society.
Any given day will allow for outdoor adventuring of Fogo Island’s still-wild world or using the spaces within the Inn to escape into literary worlds. Stargaze in the rooftop hot tub after a few of chapters in our Heritage Library or start a new book with your libation of choice after spending the day hiking with a guide and taking in the coastal views.
