Short Films Announced for Devour! at Fogo Island Inn
Lia Rinaldo, Managing Director of Devour! The Food Film Fest, the largest food film festival in the world, and founding Chef Michael Howell announced today the list of six short films coming to Fogo Island next month as part of the satellite Devour! Food & Film Weekend at Fogo Island Inn, taking place Friday, November 2 to Sunday, November 4, 2018. Fogo Island Inn’s Executive Chef Jonathan Gushue will create an unforgettable six-course supper menu, designed to perfectly pair with the six award-winning films curated by the Devour! founders.
The weekend’s programming will include:
On the Shores of Tuis Bay, directed by Perrenial Plate
Mole is Mexico directed by Barbara Anastacio
How Mr and Mrs Gock Saved the Kumara directed by Felicity Morgan-Rhind
Pulled Strings directed by Vicki Chau
From the Wild directed by Kevin Kossowan
What If Michael Bay Made Waffles? directed by David Ma.
The announcement of the film selections arrives amidst a flurry of Devour! screenings and events taking place this week in Wolfville, Nova Scotia—the epicentre of Devour! Just as Devour! The Food Film Fest has thrived due to its movability, transplanting itself from one Canadian city to another, so too will the Devour! Food & Film Weekend on Fogo Island, as the films (running from 2 to 13 minutes) inspiring each of Chef Gushue’s courses shall be served in several locations throughout Fogo Island Inn.
