The Art of Storytelling

November 14-18, 2024

What makes a compelling story? Newfoundland’s rich and storied history has been shared through writing and oral tales and Newfoundlanders are known for their ability to spin a yarn.

During this weekend, you will explore the historical spaces on a guided hike, observing what we leave in our wake and how future generations may perceive us. Our Heritage Library, located on our second floor, features books on all things Newfoundland – including outport life, the fisheries, and the North Atlantic ocean.

Local musicians and storytellers will share their gifts through writing workshops to hone your craft. Glean inspiration from hikes in the surrounding nature or take part in a traditional kitchen party to awaken your creativity.
