And the Winner Is…

On May 4, 2019, residents of Fogo Island and Change Islands celebrated the second annual Community Quilt Hang Out Day. In honour of our wonderfully rich quilting tradition, quilts were hung out on clotheslines creating a colourful tapestry throughout our communities. The beautiful handiwork from favourite quilts, handmade gifts from family members, friends, and neighbours, and heirlooms passed on through generations, all came together to colour our landscapes and skies, creating a dazzling network of stunning textiles fluttering in the breeze.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to share their images with us—we received photos from all over the province, and even one quilt that made its way down south to Florida. A Facebook album collecting our community quilts and images from away can be viewed here.

And of course, we also held a draw for participating residents with a chance to win a one-night stay at Fogo Island Inn...

Congratulations, James Shea!

We can't wait to see what wonderful designs will be hanging out on your clotheslines next Spring Season.
